You have done good work if you take time to understand the needs of a parent, design spaces that address those needs, and inspire people along the way.
In 2006, I became a father. I had a difficult time finding the kind of resources to help me figure out what my role could be as a birth partner, so I created Empowered Papa to help dads navigate the time of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. The idea caught on, and I began serving the gentle birth world with my skills of counseling and education.
I helped a few friends in the birth world to make their own websites. Five years and 60 websites later, I had shifted my career focus, created a collaborative freelance agency called The Design Valley, and discovered a new way to make a difference and a living.
